SCE has officially its first Access & Functional Needs (AFN) Self Identification Survey in High Fire Risk Areas to better understand your household’s energy needs. If you or someone in your home has a disability or other AFN, especially if they use a medical device, be sure to complete this survey. This effort is taking place in two Phases, so if you haven’t received your survey by mail or email, and you live in an HFRA, keep an eye out for it during the fall.

Be Prepared, Get Ready

  • When there’s increased wildfire risk, the utility companies may need to turn off power, as a measure of last resort, to ensure the safety of the public. This is known as a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS). Through a collaborative partnership the California 211 Network, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), and Southern California Edison (SCE) support customers who reside in high fire risk area with an Access or Functional Needs (AFN) such as a disability, limited transportation, or other need for assistance by connecting them to resources, programs, and local support systems.   • SCE is conducting Self-Identification Surveys in High Fire Risk Areas (HFRAs) throughout SCE service area to better support customers with Access and Functional Needs (AFN). Keep an eye out for this survey in your mail and email boxes later this year. This is not a scam.
